being used by him-π
The scent of sterile ozone and expensive sandalwood clung to the air of the top-floor penthouse office. Jeon Jungkook leaned back in his leather throne, his dark eyes tracking Y/N as she stepped toward his desk. She clutched a stack of reports, her knuckles white, a faint pink hue dusting her cheeks the moment their gazes locked.
"The quarterly projections, sir," she murmured, her voice barely a whisper.
Jungkook didn't look at the papers. He looked at the way her pulse fluttered in the hollow of her throat. He knew that look. He had known it since she walked through the doors of his firm three years agoβa lingering hunger, a shy devotion. To him, it was a tool.
The heavy mahogany doors swung open. Sera stepped in, her heels clicking like a countdown against the marble floor.
"Jungkook, my father insists we set a date for theβ"
Before Sera could finish, Jungkookβs hand shot out. He gripped Y/Nβs waist, fingers digging into the soft fabric of her skirt, and hauled her violently onto his lap.
Y/N gasped, her breath hitching as she collided with his hard chest. She froze, her heart hammering against her ribs like a trapped bird.
"Sir?" she breathed, wide-eyed.
Jungkook didn't answer. He tilted her chin up and crushed his lips against hers. He didn't kiss her with tenderness; it was a claim, a calculated performance. He tasted of bitter espresso and cold ambition. He felt her melt, her small hands clutching his shoulders as a soft moan escaped her. Jungkook smirked into the kiss, his tongue sliding against hers, feeling the sudden surge of her heat.
Sera stopped dead, her expression a mask of boredom. She didn't scream. She didn't cry. She simply watched the spectacle with a detached sigh.
"Are you quite finished?" Sera asked, her voice dry.
Jungkook detached his lips slowly, a thin string of saliva connecting them for a fleeting second. Y/N remained paralyzed, her eyes glazed, her skin flushed a deep crimson.
"Get out, Y/N," Jungkook commanded, his voice returning to its usual glacial tone.
Y/N scrambled off his lap, her legs trembling. She nearly tripped over her own feet as she rushed from the room, the ghost of his touch sending electric shocks through her spine.
Jungkook cleared his throat and gestured to the chair opposite him.
"Sit, Sera."
Sera sank into the leather, crossing her legs. "I assume this little display was meant to repel me?"
"It worked," Jungkook replied, leaning back. "Iβm too busy for a wedding. We can announce an engagement in six months. Not a day sooner."
Sera stared at him, her eyes dull. "My father will be disappointed, but I suppose I can endure another half-year of your arrogance."
She stood and left without another word.
In the hallway, Y/N leaned against the cool wall, her hand pressed to her lips. A dizzying hope bloomed in her chest. He had kissed her. He had wanted her in front of the woman he was supposed to marry.
For the next two months, the cycle repeated. Every time Sera visited, Jungkook would pull Y/N into his space, bruising her lips and claiming her body in a feverish, public display. Each time, Y/N believed she was winning his heart, unaware she was merely the shield he used to keep the world at bay.
